Bandh affects normal life in Manipur

Normal life has been partially hit along the Imphal-Jiribam Road of National Highway-53 in Manipur due to the 48-hour bandh which started from 6 am on Thursday. The bandh is jointly called by the District Concern Development Committee and District Coordinating Team of Tamenglong District demanding immediate transfer of District Rural Development Agency and central sponsored schemes to Deputy Commissioner of the District from the Autonomous District Council. More than 500 loaded Imphal bound trucks have been stranded at Jiribam due to the bandh. All types of vehicles including inter-state passenger buses are not plying along the National Highway from Thursday morning.
