In Assam, normal life was affected in several districts of the state following a 12-hour bandh called by the All Adivasi Students' Association since Wednesday morning. The bandh call was given in protest against killing of the Association President Mr. Bosco Charmaco by some unidentified gunmen at Gossaingaon area in Kokrajhar district on Tuesday. Official sources said, the bandh affected movement of vehicular traffic on all the roads, including the national highways, in Kokrajhar, Udalguri, Sonitpur, Darrang, Chirang and Karbi Anglong districts. Most of the shops, business establishments and educational institutions remained closed. Policepicked up around three hundred picketers from different parts of Sonitpur district as a precautionary measure.
