In Andhra Pradesh, normal life has been severely hit in 13 districts of Seeamandhra region today due to bandh while the state Reorganisation Bill was being introduced in Parliament. The State Non-Gezetted Officers Association has called for the bandh, protesting against the state's bifurcation and tabling of the Bill in Parliament.
The opposition TDP and YSR Congress party extended support to the agitation. State owned Road Transport Corporation Buses went off the roads in the region due to which commuters are facing hardships at many places. Education institutions Shops and business establishments remained closed.
Demonstrations, dharnas and road blockades are being held in several towns included Ananthapur, Tirupati, Vijayawada, Guntur and Ongole.
Meanwhile, the state Legislative Assembly was adjourned sine die after it passed the Appropriation Bill or Vote-on-account. This session will be the last session in the present Assembly as the Assembly elections are due along with General elections in the state.
The four-day brief session had passed vote-on account without any discussion amidst continuous uproar by the members from Telangana region.
