Union Minister for Labour and Employment Bandaru Dattatreya has said that Employees Provident Fund Organization – EPFO would save 350 crore rupees per annum for collection of contributions at zero transaction charges. He said private sector banks HDFC, ICICI, Kotak Mahindra and Axis Bank along with six nationalised banks including State Bank of India have given consent to collect contributions at zero transaction charges. <br/><br/>Speaking to newsmen in Hyderabad today Mr Dattatreya said earlier the EPFO paid 12 rupees for each online transaction. He also said the 216th Central Board of Trustees meeting held recently has decided to engage private sector banks for collecting the contributions from organizations and employers without transaction charges. <br/><br/>As part of housing for all by 2022, EPF scheme 2017 has been amended to facilitate housing loans to EPF members and the condition to withdraw of funds has been reduced from 5 to 3 years. For implementation of housing scheme the minister said a memorandum of understanding has been signed with HUDCO.<br/><br/>Mr Dattatreya informed that EPFO introduced a single page composite claim form by consolidating multiple claim forms. Efforts are being made to bring all anganwadi workers under social security schemes for which his ministry will hold consultations with the ministries of Finance, Home and Health, the minister added.
