The government has extended the ban on export of edible oil by one more year, with the aim of boosting domestic supply. The Directorate General of Foreign Trade said in a notification in the capital that the ban will remain in force till September 30, 2011. The export prohibition, which first came into force in March, 2008, and has been extended repeatedly, was supposed to expire on September 30.
