Ban on coverage of JuD, others by Pak seems mere publicity, says India

New Delhi says the ban imposed by Pakistan on the publicity of LeT, Jamaat-ud-Dawa, JuD, and Falah-e-Insaniyat, FIF, through electronic media, seems a mere publicity at first sight. <br/><br/>Responding to a media query, External Affairs Ministry spokesperson Vikas Swarup said, the relevant notification by Paksitan's Electronic Media Regulator and its implications need to be studied.<br/><br/>Mr Swarup said, a complete and enforceable ban by Pakistan authorities on all activities of the UN-proscribed affiliates of LeT, and other terrorist organisations, active in Pakistan has been long overdue. <br/><br/>The spokesperson said, effective action by Pakistan in this regard will have to go far beyond prohibiting their publicity through electronic media. <br/><br/>Mr Swarup stated that India's stand on the need for Pakistan to act on its oft-repeated assurances to end all terrorism emanating from territory under its control is well known.
