UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon has welcomed the lifting of the state of emergency in Bahrain, which earlier witnessed a violent crackdown by the Government against protesters demanding reform.According to a statement of UN received by Prasar Bharti in Dubai today, the Secretary General, also welcomed the call made by Bahrain’s King Khalifa for a national dialogue to begin on 1st July. He expressed the hope that such a dialogue will be genuine and meaningful and lead to an inclusive reform process aimed at meeting the political, economic and social aspirations of all Bahraini people.
