An Indonesian counter terrorism official on Thursday said Umar Patek, the man accused of mixing the explosives for the first Bali bombings, has confessed the charges against him . Patek is now expected to stand trial for the crime that killed 202 people, including 88 Australians, in the Bali bombings in 2002. He was flown from Pakistan to Jakarta overnight and is being held at Riot Squad headquarters, south of Jakarta. Patek was arrested in January in the same Pakistani town where Osama Bin Laden had his safe house. The head of Indonesia's anti-terrorism agency, Ansyad Mbai, said Patek has already made a basic confession. The official said Patek acknowledged that he was involved in the first Bali bombing and before that in the Christmas bomb in 2000.
