Congress president Sonia Gandhi says, BJP is spreading communalism and dividing the society. She said, on the contrary, Congress party takes everyone along for the all-round prosperity of the country.

Addressing an election rally at Balasore, the Congress president said BJP has no vision for the country and the people. She said BJP's only agenda is to oppose the Congress party.

Sonia Gandhi also criticised the Naven Patnaik government in Odisha for grossly neglected the farmers. She said more than 4,000 farmers have been forced to commit suicide because of the anti-farmer policies of the BJD government. The Congress chief targeted the BJD government for not implementing the Food Security Act, enacted by the UPA government, in Odisha.

Sonia Gandhi also took the BJD government to task for the series of scams in the state and made particular mention of the chit fund and MGNREGA scams in which 'thousands of crores' of public money has been swindled by these companies.
