In the 16th Asian Games, Bajrang Lal Takhar has won gold medal in men's singles sculls in rowing event this morning. This is the second Gold for India in the Games. India on Thursday won two Silver and one Bronze. But Gold medal hope Saina Nehwal suffered a shock quarter-final exit in the women's singles badminton. World number three Saina lost in three games to last the edition's Silver medalist and world number 12 Yip Pui Yin in a fiercely fought quarter-final match, which lasted 46 minutes. Poor form also continued to haunt the fancied shooters with Gagang Narang flopping yet again.The men's rowing four team of Anil Kumar, Saji Thomas, Ranjit Singh and Jenil Krishnan began the Silver collection as they completed the distance of 2,000 meters in 6 minutes 16.79 seconds. China won Gold, while Uzbekistan got the Bronze in the event. In the men's lightweight four event final, the Indian quartet of Lokesh Kumar, Manjeet Singh, Rajesh Kumar Yadav and Satish Joshi finished second with a timing of 6 minutes, 13.32 seconds for the second Silver during the day. Japan won the Gold, while Hong Kong collected the BronzeApart from the Silver-winning feat of the rowers, shooter Vijay Kumar bagged a Bronze medal and Paramjeet Samota assured himself of at least a Bronze after punching his way into the semifinals of the super heavyweight boxing on yet another mediocre day for the large Indian contingent.
