Bahrain prepares to stage its Formula 1 Grand Prix

Bahrain is preparing to stage its Formula 1 Grand Prix in a few hours from now despite continuing unrest and calls by the Opposition for it to be cancelled. There were renewed clashes overnight between Police and anti-government protesters. The authorities say they are confident the Formula 1 Grand Prix will not be disrupted by protests. The heavily-guarded race track has been surrounded with layers of security to keep anti-government activists away. Many protesters want the race to be cancelled, but the government is determined to go ahead with it.
