Bahrain imposes three month of state emergency to quell political unrest

In Bahrain, a three-month state of emergency has been imposed to quell political unrest. According to Bahrain’s official news agency BNA, the king has authorized the nation's armed forces chief is to take all measures to stamp out protests that have gripped the island nation for the past month.The move comes a day after Saudi-led GCC military forces arrived to help Bahrain. Agency reports quoting a security official says that a Saudi soldier who was part of the troops deployed to Bahrain has been shot dead by a protester in the capital, Manama.Meanwhile Iranian Foreign Ministry has summoned ambassadors of Switzerland representing US and Saudi Arabia over their military interventions in Bahrain. According to Iranian news agency IRNA, Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman told a news conference in Tehran that presence of foreign forces and interference in Bahrain’s internal affairs is unacceptable and will further complicate the issue. Iran's Parliament in a statement today expressed its support for the uprisings in Libya, Bahrain and Yemen.
