Bahrain declares today as Official Mourning Day

Bahrain government has declared today as an official day of mourning. Country’s crown prince Salman said that day has been announced after all political powers agreed to engage in national dialogue which is not yet achieved because of strict conditions set by the opposition. Meanwhile protestors are camping out at Pearl Square calling for sweeping political reforms in the country as top U.S. military officer Admiral Mike Mullen arrived in Bahrain for talks with the country's leaders. Government has already released several opposition leaders as part of reconciliation. The opposition has demanded the resignation of the government headed by King’s uncle, Sheikh Khalifa bin Salman, as a pre-requisite for dialogue. In Yemen, the Minister of Tourism, Nabil Al Faki has said that early presidential elections should take place in the country to avoid the fate of the Tunisian and Egyptian leaders. President Saleh has repeatedly said that he will not run for office when his current term ends in 2013 and his son Ahmed will not succeed him. Saleh has issued orders to his security forces to protect protesters and prevent clashes between pro- and anti-government demonstrators. Thousands of Yemeni anti-regime demonstrators are defiant and calling the president to resign.
