n Uttarakhand, the portals of the Central Himalayan Hindu shrine of Badrinath will be closed Thursday evening for the winter. According to reports, the last day ritualistic closing ceremony has begun at the temple precincts.AIR correspondent reports the ritualistic ceremonies to close the portals of the shrine which is situated at the height of ten thousand two hundred forty eight feet above the sea level started on last Tuesday.Head Priest of Badrinath Dham Jagdamba Prasad Sati told that the religious formalities to close the temple are underway at this moment. The entire temple has been decorated with the flowers.Meanwhile despite light snowfall and inclement weather conditions, a large number of devotees are at the temple to witness this auspicious occasion. According to temple committee, during winter season the worship of lord Badrinath is done at Joshimath town in Chamoli district.
