Badminton:Saina enters singles qf's at Malaysia Open

India's shuttle queen Saina Nehwal and the Indian duo of Ashwini Ponnappa and Pradnya Gadre will today play their respective quarterfinal matches of the Malaysian Open Super Series Badminton tournament at Kuala Lumpur. For a place in the Women's Singles semi-finals, London Olympics Bronze medalist Saina will take on Nozomi Okuhara of Japan. Yesterday, top seed Saina, after defeating Pui Yin Yip of Hong Kong, not only booked a place in the quarterfinals but also regained her World Number Two status.Meanwhile, the duo of Ashwini Ponnappa and Pradnya Gadre will today meet the Indonesian pair of Aprilsasi Variella and Vita Marissan for a Women's Doubles semi-final berth. Yesterday, India's campaign in the Men's Singles came to an end. London Olympics quarterfinalist P. Kashyap lost to Jan Jorgensen of Denmark, while Gurusaidutt went down fighting to the second seeded Japanese Kenichi Tago.
