In the second round of women's singles event, 11th seed Sindhu moved past Danish Line Kjaersfeldt 11-21, 21-17, 21-16. She will next take on Olympic champion and third seed Li Xuerui of China in the pre quarterfinals.In the second round of men's singles event, third seed Srikanth registered straight set victory over Australia's Michael Fariman 21-10, 21-13. He will next take on Chinese Taipei's Hsu Jen Hao.However, it was sad news for men's doubles pair of Manu Attri and Sumeeth Reddy and women's doubles pair of Mohita Sahdev-Dhanya Nair as both combinations suffered first round losses in their respective categories.
