In the Badminton Asia Championship at Taipei, three Indian players – Parupalli Kashyap, Sai Praneeth B and rising woman shuttler P V Sindhu entered the second round of the singles competition. However, three Indian pairs in Men's Doubles event lost their respective first round matches. In the Women's Doubles category, only the pair of Pradnya Gadre and Ashwini Ponnappa reached the second round. In the Mixed Doubles, India's duo of Tarun Kona and Ashwini Ponnappa lost their opening round tie. Meanwhile, the Badminton World Federation officials said in a statement that the sport is set to follow tennis and football by introducing technology to review disputed line calls. The new system is expected to go live at the Indonesian Open in September.
