Ace Indian shuttler Saina Nehwal today made a shock first round exit from the Badminton Asia Championships at Wuhan, China. Saina, who was seeded seventh in the tournament, lost to an unseeded Japanese Sayaka Sato, 21-19, 16-21, 18-21.However, fourth placed Rio Olympics Silver medalist PV Sindhu made it to the pre-quarterfinals after beating Dinar Ayustine of Indonesia, in straight games, 21-8, 21-18. In Mixed Doubles, the pair of Sikki Reddy and Pranaav Chopra bowed out in the opening round. Many Indian shuttlers are yet to play their first round matches today.
