Nagaland Chief Minister T. R. Zeliang today said that Badminton is one of the ten prioritized disciplines of sports in the Nagaland Sports' Policy. He said the State Sports Council is giving special thrust to produce quality players in these disciplines. He said this while inaugurating the Yonex Sunrise 38th Nagaland Inter District &State Open Badminton Championship 2014 open at the Multi Sports Indoor Hall, Imkongmeren Sports Complex at Mokokchung this morning. The Chief Minister said nature has endowed the Nagas with the right physique and agility, which is suited for badminton. He said over the years the state has produced a good number of players who have done well in the regional and national level. He called upon the participants to enrich their discipline and perseverance to excel in this discipline.
