Ajay Jayaram lost to Lee Zii Jia of Malaysia in the men's singles quarter-finals of the Chinese Taipei Badminton tournament in Taiwan today. Lee defeated Jayaram 21-16, 21-9. 

The one-sided match lasted for just 28 minutes. With this defeat, India's challenge ended in the tournament. This was the first encounter between these two players, in which, Jayaram surrendered meekly to his Malaysian opponent. 

Before this match, Sourabh Verma lost to Riichi Takeshita of Japan 19-21,  23-21, 21-16 yesterday.
