Former Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister and BSP chief Mayavati today demanded a CBI probe into the rape and killing of two sisters in Badayun. Talking to media persons in Lucknow today, she made a scathing attack on the Akhilesh Yadav – led state government. She said that the Samajwadi Party government is a failure on all fronts.
She alleged that it isa total anarchy and law and order in the state have been collapsed. Ms.Mayavati added that the people of Uttar Pradesh seem to be doomed to face the worse days ahead. She demanded an immediate presidential rule in the state to end the alleged anarchy.
Meanwhile an FIR has been lodged for gangrape, murder, conspiracy and under the provisions of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act against the eight persons including three policemen and five others including three named in the gangrape and killing of two minor girls in Badaun district of Uttar Pradesh. Of them four have been arrested including two each named accused and policemen. District police chief has said that eight teams have been set up to nab the culprits.Our correspondent reports that a team of National Women Commission is on the way to the village to inquire into the incident. Chairman of National Commission for Scheduled Castes P L Punia and his colleagues have reached Badaun. Large numbers of security persons are deployed in and around the village to maintain peace.
All major opposition parties in the state have demanded a CBI probe into the incident.
AIR Allahabad correspondent reports that the leader of the opposition in the State Assembly and BSP Leader Swami Prasad Maurya, Congress leader Nasib Pathan and senior BJP leaders today visited the village and met the family members of the victim minor girls.
Meanwhile, the postmortem examination reports have confirmed the deceased were raped. Family members of the deceased girls have alleged the girls had gone to attend nature’s call when they were forcibly taken to the nearby jungle. According to the complaint, when they went to lodge the complaint at the police outpost, police men turned them away after hurling abuses . It was also alleged that the policemen of the concerned police station helped the accused to flee.
