Badal urges Centre to raise five new IRB units for Punjab

Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal on Saturday urged the Centre to raise five new India Reserve Battalions for the state over the next three years for tackling cross-border terrorism and maintaining law and order. <br/><br/>He met the Home Minister P Chidambaram in New Delhi and sought funds for the Mega City Policing Project for Ludhiana. Mr. Badal also sought 5,000 rupees per acre compensation to farmers having land along the Indo-Pak border in the state in view of the difficulties being faced by them.<br/>
