Punjab Deputy Chief Minister, Sukhbir Badal has asked the Jalandhar Police Commisioner to expedite the case regarding the merciless beating of an African student in April, this year in Jalandhar and hunt for remaining accused in the case, whosoever he may be.

He has also directed the Punjab Chief Secretary, Rakesh Singh to immediately get in touch with father of the African national and extend all possible medical and financial help to him. The 24-yrs old boy Yannick, who is a student of Jalandhar based private university is lying in coma since then and is admitted in a Patiala based hospital. His father has recently appealed to the Chief Minister to look into the case and extend required help to him.

AIR Correspondent reports that two of the alleged accused in the case had been arrested by the Jalandhar police and a charge sheet had been filed against them.
