In Punjab, Chief Minister Prakash Singh Badal has allocated portfolios to the Ministers late on Thursday night. He has kept seven departments with himself, including power and vigilance department. Dy. Chief Minister Sukhbir Singh Badal will be the Home Minister and he will also look after seven other departments.

Bhagat Chuni Lal will be the Local Government and Medical Education Minister. Finance and Planning department has been given to Parminder Singh Dhingsha.

Most of the Ministers of previous Cabinet have retained their earlier portfolios in the new Cabinet also. The Chief Minister has asked all the Ministers to be present in their offices to attend the visitors every Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday.
