In Lakshadweep, Independence Day celebrations were a low key affair due to bad weather. Lakshadweep Administrator Amarnath unfurled the National Flag at Kavaratti this morning. In Kochi, Flag Officer Commanding-in-Chief of the Southern Naval Command Vice Admiral Satish Soni reviewed an impressive parade held at the Naval Base. The parade was attended by 16 platoons of the Indian Navy, including four armed platoons. The President's Colurs awarded to the Southern Naval Command was also paraded on the occasion.
