In Uttar Pradesh, the main and oldest litigant in the Babri Masjid Ram Janm Bhumi dispute, Hashim Ansari who has been fighting the case since last 65 years, said that he is no more interested to fight the case.

Exasperated over the politicization of the issue, Mr. Ansari said, he is very much saddened and he will not take part in any program of protest to mark the demolition of the structure on December 6. Talking to AIR, he also said that when he sees Ram Lala in tent and sacks, it gives him a pain and he does not want this to continue. Mr. Ansari stressed that he wants to see Ram Lala free and open.

Meanwhile, the legal experts say that even if Hashim Ansari withdraws or does not press the case, it will not make any difference as several others still remain as the party in the matter.
