Babri Masjid demolition was planned, claims Cobrapost in sting operation; BJP approaches EC to prevent its coming on media

The web portal Cobrapost has claimed in its sting operation that the demolition of Babri Masjid in Ayodhya was not an act of frenzied mobs but an act of a sabotage planned with utmost secrecy.

At a press conference in New Delhi today, Cobrapost editor Anirudh Behl screened the recorded interviews in which some low rung leaders of BJP, VHP and Shiv Sena have claimed that the operation was carried out with precision by their volunteers after going through intensive training and mock drills.

Cobrapost claimed that even the then chief minister of Uttar Pradesh Kalyan Singh, BJP leader L K Advani and former Prime Minister P V Narsimha Rao were in the know about the imminent demolition.

Meanwhile, BJP has approached the Election Commission to prohibit telecast and publication of contents of the sting operation. Party leader Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi told reporters in New Delhi today that the contents of the sting appear to be politically motivated and what he called planned operation to polarise votes during the Lok Sabha elections.

Terming the new revelations, on Babri masjid demolition as serious matter, senior Aam Aadmi Party leader, Prashant Bhushan today said that the alleged role of BJP and RSS in the destruction of the historical structure stands exposed.
