In UK, British Airways passengers are facing a third day of disruption at Heathrow as the airline deals with the impact of a worldwide computer system crash. BA says it aims to operate a full long-haul schedule and a high proportion of short-haul services after the outage caused by a power failure. <br/><br/>It says passengers should check the status of flights before travelling. Cancellations and delays affected thousands of passengers at both Heathrow and Gatwick on Saturday.<br/><br/>All flights operated from Gatwick yesterday but more than a third of services from Heathrow – mostly to short-haul destinations – were cancelled. In a statement, BA said its IT systems were moving closer to full operational capacity.

In UK, London's Heathrow Airport said early today that there were still some disruptions to British Airways flights from the airport following a global computer system failure at the airline. <br/><br/>The airline resumed some flights from Britain's two biggest airports yesterday, but hundreds of passengers were still waiting for hours at London Heathrow. <br/><br/>The airport said earlier that further delays and cancellations of BA flights were expected yesterday and told passengers not to travel to the airport unless they were rebooked on other flights. <br/><br/>BA cancelled all its flights from Heathrow, Europe's busiest airport, and Gatwick on Saturday after a power supply problem disrupted its flight operations worldwide and also hit its call centres and website.
