Former Chief Minister B S Yediyurappa's son and Shikaripura MLA B Y Vijayendra has taken over charge as the Karnataka state BJP President. The Dakshina Kannada Member of Parliament Nalin Kumar Kateel handed over the charge to B Y Vijayendra at the BJP state headquarters in Bengaluru on Wednesday. Thousands of party workers took part in the ceremony to witness the change of party President. The BJP state unit has planned a mega rally after November 25 in Bengaluru to celebrate the appointment of Vijayendra.  BJP National President J P Nadda is likely to be present on that occasion. B Y Vijendra had previously served as the General Secretary and Vice President of the Karnataka unit of the BJP.
