India have begun their campaign in the 24th Azlan Shah Cup hockey tournament with a 2-2 draw against Korea. In the match played at Ipoh, Malaysia, India took the lead through Nikkin Thimmaiah in the 10th minute. However, Korea scored twice through Hyesung Hyun in the 24th minute and Seongkyu Lee in the 53rd minute to reverse the scoreline. VR Raghunath then came to India's rescue with a penalty corner conversion in the 56th minute. Both the teams took away one point each from the fixture. In the other league encounters, Australia started their title defence with a 7-0 drubbing of Canada while New Zealand defeated hosts Malaysia 4-2. On Monday, India will face New Zealand, Korea will be up against Canada, while Malaysia will meet Australia.
