India have lost their opening match in the 2012 Sultan Azlan Shah Cup hockey tournament. At Ipoh, Malaysia on Thursday, five-times champion India were defeated by New Zealand 5-1. The tournament is considered to be a rehearsal before the Olympics as it is played on blue turf with yellow balls, same as it is going to be in London Olympics. In another match, Pakistan beat Argentina 4-2. The other teams participating in the event are hosts Malaysia, Britain, Korea.
