<span style="color: #222222;">In the countdown to the 75th anniversary of India's freedom, Azadi Ka Amrut Mahotsav is organised in the historically significant Viduraswatha, Kittur and Shivapura in Karnataka. Viduraswatha is known as Jalianwala bagh of Karnataka where in 1938 police opened fire on the unsuspecting crowd that had gathered in an open ground near the Ashwatha tree thereby killing 32 persons and injuring many. </span><br />'' <br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">Karnataka Governor Vajubhai Vala, Chief Minister B S Yediyurappa and cabinet ministers will participate in the Azadi Ka Amrut Mahotsav being organised in Vidursawatha in Chikkaballapur district.
