It was Ustad Qamruddin ‘Bismillah’ Khan Who also played the Shehnai at the first Republic Day celebration in 1950. ever since he continued to mesmerize the world for more than 50 years with melodious tunes till his death in 2006. The list includes Daya Shankar from Delhi Sailesh Bhagwat from Mumbai, Rudresh Bhajantri from Karnataka, Ahmad Abbas Khan from West Bengal and many more.
