Union Health Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad has been unanimously re-elected as the Chairperson of Partners in Population Development, PPD for another three years term. The Health Ministry on Saturday said that the decision was taken by the Executive Committee at the Annual Board Meeting of PPD held at Pretoria in South Africa.

PPD is an inter-governmental organization which was specifically created for the purpose of expanding and improving the reproductive health, population and medical facilities. According to an official statement released in New Delhi, a bi-lateral agreement between India and South Africa was renewed for further strengthening cooperation in the field of Health and Medicine.
