Union Minister for Health and Family Welfare Gulam Nabi Azad expressed surprise over attempts of the Opposition parties to stall monsoon session of Parliament.
Addressing a Press Conference in Bangalore on Saturday, he said, the Opposition usually seeks time to discuss issues, but in the coal allocation case they did the opposite.
The Minister said that this shows that the Opposition did not want the truth but wanted to gain some mileage in the background of election coming up in some states.
He said that several bills of national importance were not taken up due to pandemonium ignoring national interest.
Terming the allegations made by the Opposition as misleading and those based on presumptions Azad said that Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh has the reputation of being the most honest person and any attempts to tarnish his image will be futile.
