The government has invited the people of Indian origin to become a partner in the health sector in the country. Speaking at the Pravasi Bhartiya Divas in New Delhi today,the Minister of Health and Family Welfare, Mr Ghulam Nabi Azad highlighted the potential of investment in drug manufacturing and medical education for Indian diaspora.He said that there is a big opportunity for investment in the drug manufacturing sector as drugs of 80 billion US dollar are on the verge of going off-patent for which the country has the capacity to manufacture drugs at competitive prices.He said that the Government has already cleared the desk by streamlining and strengthening of the regulatory frame-work with international credence.Mr Azad also appealed to the NRIs to come forward and invest in setting up the medical colleges to deal with the shortage of medical human resources.
