Ministry of Ayush is holding a day-long meeting to finalise draft of National policy of medicinal and aromatic plants in New Delhi. <br/><br/>Addressing the meeting, Ayush Minister Shripad Yesso Naik said more than 80 percent medicinal plants are sourced from the forest and this area has the potential of generating lot of employment opportunities. <br/><br/>He said the requirement of modern industry is for medicinal plants which have the maximum concentration of the active ingredients and there is a need for scaling up R&D efforts in the sector.<br/><br/>The Minister also launched the voluntary certification scheme of medicinal plants produced.
