Ayodhya case: Govt appeals to all sections of society to maintain peace after verdict

The Government today appealed to all sections of society to maintain peace and order after the verdict by Allahabad High Court on Ram Janam Bhoomi-Babri Masjid case. The judgement is expected on 24th of this month. The Union Cabinet which met in New Delhi today adopted a resolution to this effect. Giving details of the resolution, the Information and Broadcasting Minister, Mrs. Ambika Soni said the judgement needs to be treated with utmost respect. Reading out the resolution Mrs. Soni said there should be no attempt by any one section of people to provoke the other or indulge in any expression of emotion that would hurt the feelings of the other people. She made it clear that the judgement at this stage is only one step in the judicial process and in case, any of the parties feel that further judicial consideration is required, legal remedies are available.The resolution calls for ensuring highest traditions of Indian culture and respect for all religions. The resolution further said that India is firmly on the path of inclusive growth and nothing must be said or done which may cause the country to deviate from its goals and objectives.
