Aviation sector fully prepared for rollout of GST from 1st July: Jayant Sinha

Union Minister of State for Civil Aviation, Mr. Jayant Sinha has said that the aviation sector is fully prepared for the rollout of GST from 1st of July. Speaking to reporters in Mumbai today, Mr. Sinha said the aviation ministry is working very closely with the finance ministry and all other stakeholders to ensure that all systems are in place for the smooth and timely rollout of GST. This comes days after it was reported that most airlines have expressed concern over certain aspects of GST and want a deferment.<br/><br/>Talking about the national no-fly norms, Mr. Sinha said the ministry has received a very comprehensive and exhaustive feedback from stakeholders on the proposed rules to deal with unruly passengers, adding that the no-flying norms will be finalised by the first week of July.<br/> '<br/>Replying to a query about national carrier Air India's future; Mr. Sinha said inter-ministerial consultations on future course of action for Air India have been completed and the summary will soon be presented to the union cabinet. He said that all options, including the Airline's privatisation are on the table and the Cabinet will decide on how to move forward.
