<span style="color: #222222;">Government today said that the average rate of inflation in the country has remained low in the last seven years except for a rise in the prices of a few items. <br />''<br />''The rise in prices of some items was due to mismatch in demand and supply chain during the COVID-19 pandemic.&nbsp; Replying&nbsp; to supplementaries during Question Hour&nbsp; in the Rajya Sabha, Minister of State for Finance Anurag&nbsp; Thakur said, the inflation used to be&nbsp; in double digit during 2013 -14&nbsp; which has come down significantly now and the government is taking more measures to bring it further down. He said food items in the Consumer Price Index are showing a declining trend month by month. The Minister said the government has increased MSP significantly in recent years which helped farmers to increase foodgrains production.&nbsp;</span><br />
