An avalanche warning was issued today for the higher reaches of Jammu and Kashmir and Himachal Pradesh during the next 24 hours.People have been advised not to venture out in vulnerable areas of the two states.The Snow and Avalanche Study Establishment (SASE), part of the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) said medium danger avalanche warning exists for avalanche-prone areas above 3,000 metres in Kupwara district of Jammu and Kashmir.'<br/><br/>It further stated light precipitation is expected in several areas of Himachal Pradesh and Jammu and Kashmir during the next 24 hours.
