In Jammu & Kashmir, rescue operation is underway to trace out missing soldier who was buried under avalanche in Kargil sector of Ladakh on Thursday.<br/><br/>AIR correspondent reports, PRO of Udhampur based Northern Army Command, Col SD Goswami told AIR that a natural avalanche triggered by a mild earthquake hit an Army Post located at an altitude of 17500 feet in Kargil Sector on 17th of this month. <br/><br/>He said two soldiers who were on surveillance duty were washed away in the avalanche. The Army spokesman said one soldier was rescued in initial rescue operation who is recuperating. <br/><br/>Meanwhile, the Srinagar Jammu national highway continued to remain closed for 4th consecutive day today. Efforts were underway to move passenger vehicles and trucks stranded on the highway towards safer places.
