In Uttarakhand, at least two Army officers, including a Colonel, have been killed after being caught in an avalanche at Ghastoli area near Mana pass in Chamoli district. Quoting official sources PTI reports that the avalanche struck when the two Army officers both from Kumaon regiment, were returning after climbing the 24,000-feet-high Kamet Hill last evening.The Army officers were part of a 44-member expedition team. Other members of the team are safe.
