An avalanche in Afghanistan has killed 35 people including women and children. According to an official spokesman, the avalanche swept through five residential houses in the remote north-eastern Badakhshan province overnight. <br/><br/>Last month, more than 150 passengers died when their vehicles were trapped for days by avalanches on a main highway that passes through mountains north of Kabul in the Parwan province.
