<span style="color: #222222;">Union Agriculture Minister Narendra Singh Tomar and Union Chemicals and Fertilizers Minister Dr. Mansukh Mandaviya today jointly chaired a Review Meeting with the Agriculture Ministers of States and Union Territories on the situation of fertilizer.<br />''<br />''Speaking on this occasion, Dr Mansukh Mandaviya said, the&nbsp;fertilizers stock in the country is more than the demand in this Kharif season due to the government's proactive steps. He said, the Union Government has decided to provide a subsidy of two thousand 501 per bag on DAP instead of the existing subsidy of one thousand 650 per bag which is a 50 percent increase over the last year's subsidy rates.<br />''<br />'' He said, the increase in the international prices of Di-Ammonium Phosphate (DAP) and its raw materials have been primarily absorbed by the Union government. He advised the states to give farmers accurate information regarding the availability of fertilizer stocks to avoid panic situations or misinformation. He warned that the government will take strict action in case of hoarding, black-marketing, or diversion of fertilizers.<br />''<br />''Agriculture and Farmers' Welfare Minister Narendra Tomar said, the agriculture sector is a vital sector providing employment to a large population. He said, in order to reduce dependence on agricultural imports, work must be done to become AtmaNirbhar in the agriculture sector.</span><br />
