Automatic Weather Stations installed in J&K

In Jammu and Kashmir, Automatic Weather Stations (AWS) are being installed in all 22 districts of the State by State Agriculture Department in collaboration with Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO). This was stated by J&K Agriculture Minister Mr. Ghulam Hasan Mir while speaking in the Legislative Assembly in Jammu. The Minister said that in order to boost the agriculture activities across the State, Agriculture Technology Management Agency (ATMA), a newly centrally sponsored scheme has been launched in the State during the current year, under which 10 crore rupees have been provided for extension programme and reforms. He said 28 that Kissan Melas at the block level and 30 Exhibitions and 3 mega Kissan Melas were organised for creating awareness among the farmers.
