Authorities impose curfew in Srinagar and other towns

In Kashmir valley, authorities have again imposed curfew in Srinagar city and other towns today. The step has been taken to foil the proposed protest march to the localities of Anantanag, Sopore and Zanakote where three civilians were killed in the latest incidents of clashes and firing by security forces. Meanwhile, the normal life in the valley remains disrupted.AIR correspondent reports that on Tuesday there was a breather as the authorities had lifted curfew and the separatists had also relaxed the hartal for one day. However, protests and stone pelting erupted in some parts of Srinagar and Anantnag district on Tuesday following deaths of two civilians in Batamaloo and Mattan. In the first incident, in Batamaloo, a civilian died after being hit by a security force vehicle while in the second incident a person succumbed to injuries in Mattan, Anantanag after being hurt in alleged police action on Friday.
