Australia’s police step up efforts to identify Garg’s killer

Australia's police on Thursday stepped up efforts to identify the killer of 21-year old Indian-youth Nitin Garg who was brutally murdered recently. <br/> <br/>Inspector Bernie Edwards, Australia's leading homicide squad detective appealed to public for information on the murder.<br/> <br/>Edwards has asked the killer of Garg to surrender guaranteeing him safety.Nitin Garg was murdered in a Melbourne park last Saturday night as the 21-year old Indian was going to work at the nearby Yarraville Hungry Jack’s restaurant.<br/><br/>Meanwhile, the police of Victoria state have supported the travel advisory issued by India in the wake of unabated assaults and killing of its citizens in Australia. <br/> <br/>Victoria Police said they supported the general statements made in the advisory that Melbourne had seen an increase in violence and that this was often accompanied by verbal abuse, fuelled by alcohol and drugs.<br/> <br/>Police support is seen as in contrast to what state and federal government’s projection on promoting Australia as a safe place to travel and study.<br/> <br/>The move came after a 21-year old Indian was stabbed to death in Melbourne on last Saturday.<br/>
