Australian Open: Sania, Rohan to clash for semi-final spot in mixed doubles

Sania Mirza and Rohan Bopanna set up a mixed doubles quarter-final clash against each other at the Australian Open after winning their respective matches in Melbourne today. Bopanna and his Canadian partner Gabriela Dabrowski knocked out the fifth-seeded team of Yung-Jan Chan and Lukasz Kubot 6-4, 5-7, 10-3 in a second round match. Later, Sania and her partner Croatian Ivan Dodig, seeded second, defeated Saisai Zheng and Alexander Peya to triumph 2-6, 6-3, 10-6. The pair of Leander Paes with his partner Martina Hingis has set up a mixed doubles quarter-final clash with local favourties Samantha Stosur and Sam Groth. Meanwhile, in the juniors events, Siddhant Banthia reached the boys doubles quarter-final with Turkish partner Kaya Gore with a 6-3, 7-6 win over sixth seeds Zizou Bergs and Yshai Oliel. However, Mihika Yadav suffered a second round singles defeat with score of 2-6, 1-6 against 10th seeded Japanese Mai Hontama.Roger Federer has set up a semi-final clash with fellow Swede Stanislas Wawrinka. Wawrinka entered the Men's single semifinals beating Frenchman Jo-Wilfried Tsonga 7-6, 6-4, 6-3 in the quarter finals. In another quarterfinal match Roger Federer beat young German sensation Mischa Zverev in straight sets 6-1, 7-5, 6-2. Venus Williams and Coco Vandeweghe of the United States have progressed to the women's singles semis.
