Sania Mirza and Leander Paes, with their teammates, today advanced to the second round of the Australian Open Tennis tournament, the first Grand Slam of the season, at Melbourne. In the Women's Doubles first round, second seeds, Sania and Su-Wei Hsieh of Chinese Taipei, sailed past the Argentine-Swiss team of Maria Irigoyen and Romina Oprandi, in straight sets, 6-2, 6-0.In the Men's Doubles, the Indo-South African pair of Leander Paes and Raven Klaasen defeated the American duo of Rajeev Ram and Scott Lipsky, 6-4, 7-6. In the Singles, Roger Federer, Maria Sharapova and Andy Murray are among the players who today progressed to the third round.
